The aim of school life for the 740 boys who make up the College at Bishops is to have as complete an educational experience as possible. School life for a Bishops boy usually means spending the entire day at school, fully involved in the wide range of activities the school offers. A father recently commented to his son that when he was a schoolboy his heart always sank as he entered the grounds of the school he attended. His son was bemused and told him that he had never experienced such a feeling but felt the opposite extreme each morning as he entered the grounds of Bishops.
The pages of this website will detail the multitude of activities available to the boys of Bishops and hopefully also project the levels of enthusiasm and involvement that pervade the school. The ultimate aim is to produce boys who are well rounded and are suitably prepared to take their place into the dynamic international community of which they will become part.
I am very happy to be the Headmaster of this great school with particular responsibility for overseeing the day to day operation of the College. Apart from the inevitable administration, my job entails involving myself in the life of the school through visiting lessons on a daily basis, encouraging staff to always give of their best and ensuring that boys take full advantage of the opportunities afforded them. I am continuously astounded at the achievements of both boys and staff, but I know we cannot rest on our laurels and must seek to continuously reach new heights. With the privilege of either working at or attending Bishops comes a responsibility to stay at the leading edge in all spheres of endeavour from teaching practise to academic achievement to technology to cultural activities and sport. Bishops certainly provides the environment and the facilities within which this can and must happen.
