Updated School History - 1999-2024
Following on from John Gardener’s “Bishops 150: A history of the Diocesan College, Rondebosch”, we have commissioned Michael King to write a history of the last 25 years. This will take the form of a webpage, due to be released in July 2024, half-way through our 175th year.
About Michael King
Michael was appointed to Bishops as an English teacher in 1988. He served in a number of leadership roles, from Assistant Housemaster to HOD of English, and was the appointed as Senior Vice Principal of Bishops from 1993, a position he held until his retirement at the end of 2012. Michael’s experience and understanding of Bishops, after 25 years of service to the school, make him the ideal person to write the next chapter of our history, and we look forward to its publication.
