Interhouse Table Tennis

21 October 2026

On Wednesday 14 October, Mallett House hosted the annual Interhouse Table Tennis Tournament, and it was a fun-filled evening featuring some of the best table tennis players from across the houses.

The format was new this year. Each of the eight houses entered four boys, who competed individually in a 32-player knockout while earning points for their house with every victory. There were upsets from the opening round, as several higher-ranked boys were beaten.

In the first semifinal, Arman Patel beat a very spirited Sahil Khalfey of Kidd House in straight sets. The second was a nerve-wracking contest, the kind of tension last seen when France met South Africa in Paris at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. It went down to the wire between Charles Traill of Kidd and Jack Stam of White, with Jack finally coming through to set up a final against Arman.

In the final, Arman won in straight sets to take the title. Well done to him on winning the competition, in a fitting display of skill and sportsmanship, and also for organising the event.

The individual competition

In the House Cup, which is decided by the points each house’s boys earned along the way, Birt House finished first. White came second and Kidd third. Birt, who also won in 2024, is once again the winner of the Interhouse Table Tennis Competition.

We look forward to next year, in what is one of the most popular sports at Bishops.
