Hockey News and Congratulations

22 August 2025

Earlier in the term the annual Interhouse Hockey competition took place. Sadly, due to weather the Junior Interhouse was postponed until later this term, but we look forward to seeing which house will take home the trophy. As for the Seniors, every team gave it their all, displaying some great hockey and good competition. The final standings for the Senior interhouse were: 4th Founders, 3rd Mallett, 2nd Gray and 1st White.
Congratulations to White House on their win, please come and collect your trophy.

Over the Women’s Day weekend our 14A and 16A hockey teams competed in the Top Schools Hockey Tournament in Paarl. There was tough competition as the top schools from across the country went head to head over the weekend. While the 16A side perhaps didn’t have things go as well as planned, they showed great resilience and dedication to the game.
The 14A side gave it their all and fought hard through the pool stages and playoffs to make it into the final. They came out firing and left it all on the field in an epic game of hockey to draw 1-1 to Paul Roos. After sudden death showdowns the team can be very proud to take home the silver medal.
Both the 14A and 16A teams grew and learnt from this experience and show great potential for the future of Bishops Hockey. But a special congratulations to the 14A on such a fantastic achievement!

We also acknowledge and congratulate the following boys for their service to hockey umpiring and award them with service ties.
