Information Technology


Information Technology is a computer based subject that is offered in Grades 10 to 12. The subject focuses on activities that deal with the solution of problems through logical thinking, information management and communication. It also focuses on the development of computer applications using current development tools.

The course is divided into two main components, namely theory and practical.

The theory component includes sections on Computer Hardware and Software, e-Communication/Networking, Databases, Programming and Software Development.

The practical component involves the advanced use of computer applications such as spreadsheets and databases, web design and application programming using the Delphi programming language. Programming forms the majority of the practical course and focuses on the various stages of software development.
